Et tu, Saturday?

So I didn't do much yesterday. I didn't manage to make it out of the hostel until after 1. And things start closing at 1, 2, and 3 on Saturdays... if they are open at all. Which I didn't really prepare for. So I'm here another day! Hoorah. I did use my few hours of sunlight yesterday (it's dark at 4:30) to trek around down Vaci utca. The pedestrian street with all the shops. So I got a scarf and tobaggon (beanie/touke) and some postcards and other odds and ends which mean that I have to go back to the ATM machine to fund myself today. It was nice and the weather was gorgeous again. And I looked at the weather in Prague and it said "Snowstorm". I hope I see snow! Today I'm taking care of business. And going ice skating.

Snow would be fun, or at least interesting! Dad and I saw "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" yesterday. It was fantastic! I believe it is the best so far Potter movies, although I liked the other ones too.
Have fun ice skating!
Love, Mom

Goblet of Fire is the best HP flick yet. Very suspenseful. Funny boy meets girl stuff. You'll enjoy it. Sheila and I were kinda glad it'd been a while since we'd read the book. I'd forgotten enough for some of the suspense to be effective. I'd forgotten the big secret about Mad-eye, for example. I think part of the appeal of the movies to me is seeing how these young actors change and grow. All three of the leads have become better actors.

Snow! Great. Stay warm. My countdown says 24 days, 12 hours.

We talked to Carlyn's mom last night at the Shorter Feast of Carols. She and even Charles had a ball in France. They were totally unaware of the rioting in the outskirts while they were in Paris.

Jen's parents were there too. Dennis Schuman had a solo and Meagan a solo part. Something Else was a hit as always. A full house, as always. We sat next to Nick Almand's parents. He had a wonderful solo on very different arrangement of Silent Night. I didn't know him, but figure you probably do. Beautiful music throughout.

We missed Icon's Shadowlands. Dennis Hatcher (from Secret Garden) played CS Lewis. Sharon said it was very good.

Have a great last day in Buda or Pest or Obuda or all three, and a great journey to Prague!

Mom & I went to Brandon's and Madaline's senior show last night. We really enjoyed it, tho we had to sit on steps, there were no more chairs. We saw lots of your friends: Jen, Liz, Jeffery (home from NC), Meagan.

Brandon perfiormed till intermission then Madeleine had the remainder iof the time. They each did 9 or 10 numbers. My favs were "Just One Step" from Songs for a New World (M) and "If I Can't Love Her" from Beauty and the Beast (B) and "Getting Married Today" from Company (M with Dr. Lister and M. Schmuck)

Made me wanna get out the DVD of your show -- the best yet. Not only was yours performed beautifully, it was beautifully planned.

Hey, snow! Sounds like you continue to have a blast. Glad you found a coat. If you are headed into snow, a coat is a good thing.
Love you lots, Aunt Debi
