Josh and Charlee

Friday night I arrived in Sweinfurt to be suprised (frightened) by Josh waiting at the station for me. He, of course, did not bother to say hey until I was walking past him. I wasn't expecting him, but he came and waited through 3 train arrivals for me to show up. It is amazingly good to see a familiar face. I mean its been three months since I've seen ANYONE I knew. It's nice to be with people I have history with again...not go through the same schpeil about who and am, where I'm from, and what I'm doing. They know. When I got to the apartment I washed clothes immediately. And we watched the latest Survivor episode which is probably several days old. Schweinfurt really isn't as small as I imagined. And there is still a few patches of snow on the ground though it loves to rain here.
Yesterday, Josh made us a good ole southern breakfast. Grits and all! Josh and Charlee and I were planning on going to Nuremburg but we missed the train by a few minutes and the next one would have put us there for only a couple hour trip. We went out for lattes and Josh beat me at chess and then Charlee beat him.
Then we went out and played darts (which I almost won...but Josh and Charlee actually won..a game a piece). Then we went out to a dance club (v. exclusive-- no Americans after 11 and only E5 rank soliders and above). It was a lot of fun.
Today, Josh had to work. So Charlee and I went to the Schweinfurt Christmas market for lunch. I finally had Gluwein... which wasn't bad for steaming wine. Tommorrow I have most of the day here. But I have to make it to catch my plane in, as it turns out, NOT Frankfurt-Main but Frankfurt-less-convenient. Josh and Charlee are doing well. They are waiting for their late second shipment so I've been sleeping on the couch. Which is actually superior to many a hostel bed.

Hey, Baby!! It sounds like Josh and Charlee are great hosts.

We took Lil and Caroline to look around Oglethorpe Univ. on Peachtree in N. Atlanta. It had a certain Hogwarts air about it with the gothic stone buildings and "Crypt of Civilization" and such. It is the home of the Ga Shakespeare Festival and their theatre is reminiscent of the Globe.

Then we shopped at Lenox where the prices on small, simple furniture made me want to go buy up lots of the antique stuff in the Rome area! Finally we were zausted and decided to end by watching Pride and Prejudice at a theater near Town Center. It was very good, though it doesn't replace Sense & Sensibility in Mom's hierarchy of Jane Austin movies. It's amazing they could find another actor as incredibly awkward playing Darcy as Hugh Grant seemed as Edward in S&S!

Brannon,
If you're traveling RyanAir, they are never in the main airport (as far as my experience goes). They're always much less convenient, but cheap...very, very cheap. Just wanted to let you know in case you had any other flying destinations. Luckily, you learned this difference before you got to the airport. I was not so lucky.
